Spring / Summer Menu

Our spring / summer menu has landed today. Mostly menu tweaks this time as we have loved our new brunch dishes so wanted to keep them around for as long as possible. You'll see the porridge replaced by our hazelnut and sesame granola with Greek yoghurt, rhubarb and strawberry compote, shiso leaf, blueberries and redcurrant. Also, some new lunch options: a summery hummus and kimchi sandwich with kholrabi slaw and our saffron roast chicken and potato sandwich with olive chimichurri. Supplier Spotlight: Single Variety Jam Single Variety have been our jam suppliers since 2020. We use their chilli jam in our courgette and sweetcorn fritters dish and their raspberry and blackberry jams with sourdough toast. Blackberry jam season when it comes round is so exciting! It's the best blackberry jam we've tried. We usually add it to our porridge which we have on throughout winter. Single Variety use British fruit where possible and a lot of work has gone into finding the tastiest fruit varieties for each jam (as the name suggests just one variety goes into each product). Autumn at Salt the Radish

The 23rd of September was the Autumn equinox which marked a change in the season, shifting to longer nights than days. The weather is much cooler now and our cosy café is gearing up for a busy run through to December.   Our Autumn / Winter menu started on the 3rd October. We have new brunch dishes that reflect the season change and are welcoming back our much loved porridge. There will always be a warming soup or stew on our specials board and we have some new hot chocolate drinks that we think will make a lot of people happy.

Preserved Lemons: I first made preserved lemons using a recipe from Ottolenghi's Jerusalem book. If you don't have the book you can find it online here.
