Are we still allowed to say Happy New Year on the 11th January?! Not sure. We're back into the swing of things at the café and had a good and busy first week back. It's nice to see our regulars again and get back into a routine, although a full week and a half off was amazing. We have our vegan supper club, Right Said Veg, fast approaching on the 26th. The 23rd of September was the Autumn equinox which marked a change in the season, shifting to longer nights than days. The weather is much cooler now and our cosy café is gearing up for a busy run through to December.
Our Autumn / Winter menu started on the 3rd October. We have new brunch dishes that reflect the season change and are welcoming back our much loved porridge. There will always be a warming soup or stew on our specials board and we have some new hot chocolate drinks that we think will make a lot of people happy.
Birthday and Jubilee! Wrote the title then immediately googled “what is a jubilee”… turns out it’s an anniversary of an event usually denoting the 25th, 40th, 50th etc anniversary and in the case of Queen Lizzie… 70th! We had our 5th STR birthday recently, not quite the same length of time, but a significant milestone for us none the less. We celebrated as we always do with cake!
